Located on Wilshire Boulevard between Ocean Ave and 2nd Avenue, just north of the Santa Monica Pier, the hotel sits atop the scenic bluffs of Santa Monica Beach, with panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean. Comprised of a main building, a tower with 10 floors and a selection of single and double storey bungalows. A short walk across the street takes you to the Santa Monica Beach and Pier. The closest convention centre is in downtown Los Angeles, 12 miles away.

Now, after a $14 million-dollar renovation, the Miramar has recaptured the glory of her past as a celebrated Santa Monica landmark.
Senator Jones chose the full city block now occupied by the hotel for his home. Finished in 1898, it soon became known throughout the country as the "White House of the West" due to the constant stream of congressional visitors and celebrities of the time.
