Mount Cook is 68 kilometers away where you can mountaineer, go tramping and hunt. The scenery is breathtaking, a photographers dream. Autumn tree colors are well known, which is another delight. Twizel is a small town of 1,000 people, it has all amenities, including a small shopping mall, with several good restaurants and a golf course.
