Scotland’s leading hotel of the year 2003. Set in a grand old Glasgow townhouse, with vast circling staircase and antique gated elevator, the Arthouse once housed the education headquarters from 1911. The board moved on to more modern premises from this B listed building for it to be converted into a stylish urban hotel in 1999. Set in a beautiful district of the city centre in the midst of the financial district, the main shopping thoroughfare is one block away, and nightlife is nearby for the more adventurous. The sympathetic refit and subsequent additions have given the Arthouse both international standing and awards, whilst securing a place locally as a popular conference venue, eating place, gallery and ‘hang out’ of some more well known guests. 63 Individually designed guestrooms at the hotel are split into the simple elegance of standard rooms, through the luxury of our large Junior Suites to the opulence of our executive suite. All have original artwork and décor, with many boasting velvet wallcoverings, leaded windows and stained glass. All rooms have queen or king beds, large workstations with in room features such as mini bars, wireless internet access and an entertainment centre with DVD movies, music videos and satellite TV. Bathrooms are bright, airy and spacious, with large fluffy towels and locally produced toiletries. Five versatile conference spaces are guaranteed to make your next seminar or meeting a memorable one, with a choice of the modern or traditional to suit your type of event. Our dedicated staff are on hand to help tailor make your event and ensure smooth running on the day. Our largest suite is framed by ornate stained glass panels, mounted by staff from the world famous Burrell Collection. As you enter the hotel, passing the Hair and Beauty salon, the hotel takes on an almost theatrical feel, passing the dark drapes at reception leads into the main atrium of the building, looking up to the 3 floors of bedrooms and art gallery with a glazed roof. Descending the staircase, passing the lit waterfall you are welcomed to our bar, grill, Teppanyaki bar and private dining areas. A high emphasis on local produce and seafood, the extensive menu can also be ordered in room. After a fantastic meal relax in the bar with one of many malt whiskies to choose from or be tempted with a cocktail prepared by our specially trained bar staff. Breakfast is all cooked to order, with Scottish smoked Salmon or Steak and Eggs to offer a hearty start to your day.
