It is on the edge of this magnificent park, Villaborghese, that Amedeo Ottaviani took over in the midst of discreet and hidden residences of people of importance and standing. He built a white house and this beautiful building recalls the words of Byron himself who, on arriving in Rome, wrote to his friend Murray in London "I am delighted with Rome - as I would be with a bandbox that is, it is a fine thing to see". This white house also brings to mind the famous verse of GaioValerio Catullo who speaks to his love of a house standing in gardens "Illic, mea domina, vivimus" -"There, my lady, we have lived". The hotel reflects this spirit of refined exclusivity, the pleasure of sheer elegance as if in his home.
* These guest rooms will be refurbished with new wall-to-wall carpeting, fabric wall coverings and new draperies.
