The most famous museums containing renewed works of art are only a few steps away.
During the period when Florence was the capital of Italy many changes were carried out, mainly by Guiseppe Poeei, to adapt the city to it;s new role. This was when via De Calzaivoli was widened and staightened and this is why the building is a 19th century facade although concealed inside are the remains of a medieval tower (there is for example a little gothic window).
