Along the coast that leads to Portofino, in the quaint fishing village of Camogli, stands one if the most charming hotels in Liguria. Its story began in 1565 when a family of aristocratic Dogi which governed a great part of Italy decided to build a villa at the foot of Mount Portofino as their retreat.
Many of the frequent visitors were Cardinals and Priests, which inspired the Dogi to build a beautiful little chapel at the villa. Many years later after the villa had passed from heir to heir, it was bought by the noble family of Emilio De Ferrari. He and his wofe Adelia transformed the estate first in to a park and then in 1956, it became the hotel which remains today. The hotel Cenobio de Dogi.
Nestled between Portofino Mount, which is now a natural park, and the dramatic coastline of the paradise gulf, the views from the Hotel Cenobio are nothing short of spectacular and can be enjoyed from the hotels private beach, terrace bar and restaurant. The neighboring towns such as Portofino, Santa Margherita Ligure, Rapallo and Genoa itself also provide visitors with a vast array of leisure activites and cultural events.
