The Chateau Versailles is located on downtown's Golden Square Mile, just 16 miles from Dorval Airport and 40 miles from Mirabel Airport. This hotel just like all great hotels has a story to tell. ChGteau Versailles stands on grounds originally owned by a religious order of distinguished French aristocrats known as the Gentlemen of St. Sulpice. At the turn of the 18th Century it consisted of a fort and chGteau, with landscaped gardens and a reflecting pond, designed by AbbT Vachon de Belmont in honor of the original ChGteau Versailles, built by French King Louis XIV. It wasn't until 1958 that Marie Louise and AndrT Villeneuve turned the vintage townhouse at 1659 Sherbrooke Street West into a small hotel, called "Versailles Lodge". The family later purchased three adjacent townhouses, thus creating "ChGteau Versailles" as it now stands, bringing together four distinct homes, styles and histories. Restaurant Bar La Maetresse adds one more sensual desire to this property. Its dedication to elegant simplicity and emphasis on a stylish and warm environment is just one quality within its walls. The heat from the fires spreads over into the Le Boudoir. Le Boudoir offers its guests a quiet, cozy atmosphere as it serves a magnificent continental buffet breakfast Monday thru Friday from 7:00 am to 10:30 am and Saturday & Sunday from 7:30 am to 11:00 am. The guest rooms vary in size and shape, are well appointed, and tastefully decorated. The rooms have the extra touches such as luxurious bathrobes that mean so much to the discerning traveler. The hotel is a converted Victorian heritage home that offers the individual, personal service in a warm old world manner. In keeping with this old world charm, there are no elevators in this 4 story mansion, only stairs. However, the bellman will be delighted to help with your luggage, of course. The Chateau Versailles has fine dining and entertainment, and is convenient to shopping. The hotel also charges $250 CAD for pets due upon check in.
